Jefferson wins High Heels event at Dania Jai-Alai's card room

Phyllis Jefferson, a local player from Dania Beach, won the High Heels Poker Tour event held Saturday at the Dania Jai-Alai Card Room. With 86 players in the “ladies only” multitable hold’em tournament, Jefferson was the chip leader with three remaining players when they decided to “chop” and split the purse.  Each player took home $1,466 with Jefferson earning the trophy, which she's holding in the above photo as she poses with HHPT founder Lauren Failla on the right.
