Studz Poker Club at Calder Casino goes 24 hours on weekends

Studz Poker Club at Calder Casino in Miami Gardens, Fla., has announced that it will remain open 24 hours a day on weekends starting Feb. 3.

The room had been closing at 5 a.m. on weekend days, but based on trial tests in 2011, decided to remain open from 9 a.m. on Friday until 3 a.m. Monday morning when the inaugural six-event Miami Gardens Poker Classic series kicks off on Feb. 3.

"We got a lot of positive feedback from our players when we tried it in 2011," said Christopher Trabue, director of poker for Studz Poker Club. "We tested 24-hour operations on several holiday weekends in 2011, and after looking at our table counts, we decided it would be the right thing to do moving forward."
