Lakes Entertainment to run remodeled Dania Beach, Fla., casino

Lakes Entertainment, the gaming company run by Lyle Berman, has been hired to run the casino operations of the remodeled Dania Jai-Alai in Dania Beach, Fla.

Dania Entertainment Center LLC has reached an agreement to buy the jai-alai fronton from Boyd Gaming, and plans a multi-million dollar remodeling that will include a hotel, pool and casino with a poker room and slot machines.

Lakes Entertainment, which manages one casino now and has interests in two planned Ohio casinos, also will be an equity partner in the Dania project.
